Hug

Friendly reminder that Daniel Gillette is six foot one and built like a brick shithouse. Chances are your character is smaller than him in one way or another – and when he hugs, Daniel involves his whole self in the endeavour. It’s like getting wrapped up by a bear, only less fuzzy and potentially deadly.

Daniel’s hugs are all encompassing affairs. They are warm and firm, and sometimes when he gives an extra squish they can be a little too tight. This latter tends to only happen when he really, really missed someone though, so it’s usually not too terrible.

Theodore is literally motivated by adventure. I think I’ve stressed this all of the everywhere, boy is a thrill seeking maniac who wants nothing more out of life than to live free and have fun! Because of this he can be either a really great motivator because his sheer optimism and excitement bleeds off on other people, or a downright baffling piece of work because he doesn’t seem to register normal human functions like fear or self preservation.

This is a permanent starter call explicitly for my original character, Dominigo Yniguis. He enters the scene post Hornblower canon, following the Battle of Trafalgar. A salty, seasoned sailor with a spiteful attitude toward the French and a particularly explicit idea of just what can be done about Napoleon Bonaparte, he comes aboard either the Hotspur or the Surprise with a no nonsense attitude and a preparedness for battle that shows neither fear, nor patience toward inefficiency at war. Feel free to tap the heart if you’re alright with having him dropped on your ship – just remember, there are no refunds!

These calls give me a heads up on who is open to interacting with whom (which is handy for those who have exclusives among my crew! ) and gives me an excuse to kick you starters whenever something crosses the mind, or blow up your inbox knowing who would be most wanted.

Dominigo is not a man who wastes much energy on propriety – he prefers to address things directly rather than labor under the finer points of small talk and polite conversation. This often causes him to come across as blunt and abrasive, which he excuses as part of his language barrier.

In truth, his English is faultless and he knows it – but far be it from he to let the British know if it means he has to spend five minutes saying what could be conveyed in four to six words instead. The only real exception to this is when he is speaking to women – his mother taught him to alwaysput his best effort into how he addressed a woman no matter who she was, and for this alone he can border toward eloquent in the presence of a lady which can, certainly, cause a brow or two to raise.

When it comes to sympathy, Dominigo is in short supply of any to offer. By his view, all men have seen their monsters at sea and some cope with it better than others. He will never go out of his way to soften himself in order to coddle another man’s fears. If a loud voice makes a man jump, if a sharp tone is enough to earn a wince, that is not his problem. He won’t go out of his way to terrorize them, and he will be aware that their issues are more visceral than others, but nor will he actively pull himself back on their account.

Provided the person in question continues to be focused in a battle situation, Domingo – to be completely frank – does not care. His heart does not bleed for any man. You either get your shit together or you don’t, but god help you if you are inefficient because of your inner demons. The one thing Dominigo will never tolerate is ineptitude – when your actions (or inaction ) can cost lives aboard a ship, you had best get to work before he gives you a real reason to flinch from the sound of his voice. The more focused a man is in battle, the more Dominigo will like him when the smoke clears.

However, despite his stance as a True Neutral when it comes to matters aboard the ship between the other men, there are things that he will not stand idly by and accept. He is quite aware of being an outcast on whatever British ship he happens to be on ( Be it Hotspur or Surprise )so he’s not going to take on anyone’s damage in any way unless these lines are crossed. He generally takes active measures to avoid those with obvious damage in them on principle, to keep from becoming involved. Conversation with them is blunt, to the point, and in regard to duty.

Dominigo never talks of himself ( to the damaged or the hale ) or where he came from. The only thing that animates him is shittalking the French . But if he believed there was some Shady Shit going down, chances are high he’d side with the victim of the scene, less because he cares at first but more because:

1. Infighting = Damnable offence
2. If you want a fight, pick an honest one
3. Bullies are cowards and he has no time for weak willed bitches in his life; they want to play alpha they can take on a real one.

After stepping in the first time, he’d make a habit of keeping an eye on the victim after that as clearly, the damage comes from an active mark. Dominigo does not believe in Jonah, nor in many other superstitions sailors utilize to explain away the unfavorable and grant themselves a target for their cabin fever and resultant tempers. This doesn’t mean he will befriend the victim, but there is a chance he will offer to teach them some modes of defense for the future.

This is a permanent starter call explicitly for my original character, Lord Elijah Anthony Grey, captain of HMS Siren and notable for his brief appearance in Horatio Hornblower’s fourth adventure. Stabbed whilst bearing admiralty orders of a highly sensitive nature, Elijah fainted out on the couch and came to after the fleet had left – and all that comes after is, of course, divergent!

These calls give me a heads up on who is open to interacting with whom (which is handy for those who have exclusives among my crew! ) and gives me an excuse to kick you starters whenever something crosses the mind, or blow up your inbox knowing who would be most wanted.

Despite his incredibly small stature, Elijah was always a very healthy young boy. He struggled during his first few years, though stabilized around the time he was five and became as rowdy and rambunctious as could be allowed before decorum and propriety demanded he learn to tone down on the idea of fun and focus himself into study.

The few times he got sick in his adult life were all at sea, and he was as miserable as might be expected – though determined to work through it, as he knew any other man would have to. He even thought himself rather skilled at hiding how unwell he was, but in truth it was more often the case that politeness and amusement held the tongues of those around him as he weakly went about his rounds; provided he didn’t seem too bad off at any rate.

This all changed after he was nearly assassinated carrying the admiralty’s orders. The damage to his body served to shock his system – and that, combined with his high speed rush to catch up with the fleet before it ran straight into an ambush despite his recent brush with death – made him susceptible to a fever that ravaged through him while the Siren was on her return trip from the catastrophe he was ultimately unable to avert.

The damage that fever caused will prove to be long lasting, as it all but destroyed his immune system. He is wary of illness at the best of times, but now not only is he vulnerable to disease in general, he is also liable to catch colds and flus more often, which can both prove to be shockingly dramatic in how ferociously they render him into weakness.

Elijah always dreamed of becoming a playwright. With five older brothers and two older sisters, his position in the Grey estate was one of luxury and a quiet sort of loneliness that he welcomed gladly. With focus spent on his brothers, he was often left to his own devices and the love he found for the theater was both encouraged and indulged by his parents as it kept him out of trouble.

It was a matter of fate that he would be loaned a servant’s coat when he caught chill in the theater one night, and that he would be mistaken for common rabble by a captain’s needy crew. Pressed into service, his consequent disappearance caused a furious manhunt financed by his father as well as grandparents on both sides determined for him to be found.

It was six months of grueling work and an intensity of closeness for a boy used to both a pampered lifestyle and a certain amount of isolation, but in that time Elijah found himself changed by the call of the sea and the brotherhood of the sailors who banded around him. For this reason, he stood against his father’s wrath against captain and crew, insisting they had not known and pleading adamantly enough for their lives that they were spared; little did he think the act would be remembered.

Enamored by his time at sea, Elijah immediately beset upon his father for a commission. At barely fourteen years of age and known for his frequent bouts of ill-health, he was immediately denied and when he persisted his father distracted him by way of a full season of opera in Italy.

With his eldest brother married and set in place to inherit the estate, two older brothers holding prominent positions in the army, and two more besides with promising political careers ( not to mention his sister’s husbands, a baron of pleasant reputation and a highly acclaimed military strategist respectively ) there was absolutely no need for Elijah to get involved with – of all things – the King’s Navy!

Obsessed despite his father’s efforts, Elijah’s writings and poems shifted toward his call for the sea, and he would sit in the theater and half engage in his favorite actors and actresses while secretly reading nautical textbooks. Two years later, he sang his hopes and dreams to his mother and sought her assistance in convincing his father – between the two of them and Elijah’s obvious efforts, His Grace relented and permitted the purchase of commission.

Elijah enjoyed six years as a midshipman before he made it any further – for while he was offered opportunity to take the lieutenants exam on multiple occasions, he had no desire for leadership and only wished to sail and write his poems in the off time. Elijah feared so much command, but his father started to pressure him to show ambition in his career or find himself decommissioned and returned home immediately. Unwilling to lose the sea, Elijah took his examination when next it was presented and passed with flying colors.

Stationed aboard a ship that claimed two prizes barely three months after he achieved his new station, Elijah found himself acting captain for four months before being drawn to the admiralty by his father’s machinations. Commissioned to captain a ship amid the fleet to be led by Pellew into France in a bid to reclaim her from Napoleon and the revolutionaries, the young lord found himself attacked not long after gaining his orders and being directed to return to the docks.

Stabbed in the side, Elijah made it back in time to warn that the orders had been stolen – but between his injury and his weak constitution, he fainted out before he could. When he came to, the fleet had already departed and there was nothing to be done while he remained laid up under the surgeon’s care.

His mother and father engaged in a rampant argument over the efforts His Grace took to force his son higher than he wished to go and the surgeon granting dire warning that he must be careful not to strain himself all fell deaf upon him as he waited as long as he could manage before getting up and penning a letter explaining why he had to leave. With that managed, Elijah rushed to the docks and breathed a sigh of relief to find his still in the harbor – another sent in her place, no doubt.

Short several men, Elijah went to a nearby tavern to finish filling up his roster and met with the men of his past, the ones who introduced him ( however violently ) to the sea in the first place. Explaining to the seniors among them his need and intentions, Elijah found them all willing to assist, and was underway just as his father’s carriage reached the docks. His Grace’s bellowing could be heard until they reached the open waters, by which point, Elijah had gone below to rest.

With all haste mustered, Elijah and his men raced after the fleet in the hopes of warning them in time. They saw the return ships, but not the Indefatigable and so, they sailed on until they met with her to escort her home. Elijah’s journey, since, are adventures yet to be seen.

He remains captain of HMS Siren and provides his assistance where he may; his father no longer interferes with his career, though his mother wishes him home and even his brothers write to bid him back, all of them aware of how his health has faded since his injury – but there is nothing that will call Elijah from the sea save the King – at which point, he rests easy only in the theater.

This is a permanent starter call explicitly for my original character, Julienne Bouchard. Anyone who is interested in interacting with an French “pirate” in the Hornblower fandom feel free to let me know.

SINDAY REQUESTS ( NSFW )

👍 FAVORITE BODY PART ON THE OPPOSITE SEX?

The hands of women are so often delicate in comparison to that of men. He loves to hold them, to kiss them ( and while it is true he does the same with men, there is something to be said about a woman’s hands that he will never deny is somehow kinder than those of men. )and indeed, he would be lying to claim he did not adore the feel of them upon himself.

👥 FAVORITE BODY PART ON THE SAME SEX?

Hips. Julienne adores holding men by their hips – running his thumbs over them, his lips, his teeth. He will always leave marks on the hips of those whom he has claimed as his own – of that much you can be sure.

🍒 ARE YOU A VIRGIN?

Well he does have three daughters – alright well one that is adopted and one that is debatably his biologically but he absolutely for sure made at least one human being so ?

💋 DO YOU USE TONGUE WHEN YOU KISS?

To be honest with you considering the timeline I wouldn’t be surprised if this French bastard helped invent the concept.

👅 GIVE OR RECEIVE ORAL SEX?

Julienne prefers to give it – and honestly will not receive it unless he has already given it himself. He is not a huge fan of it on the receiving end, interestingly enough, but he does love to be on the giving end.

👄 DO YOU SWALLOW?

It is very rare that he will opt not to.

💍 COMMITMENT OR SLEEPING AROUND?

Julienne has had his dalliences in his youth. At this point in time he would prefer something lasting. He is a man who is deeply committed to his ship, his daughters and his crew – the one who secures him would then need to be part of his family and community, for he is not one for long distance relations. He would, however, be entirely faithful and committed.

💌 DO YOU TEXT/WRITE NAUGHTY THINGS TO YOUR PARTNER?

If it struck him as worthwhile to do so, he likely would write some steamy letters in the event he and his lover were forced to part for a time.

👙 DO YOU LIKE TO WEAR LINGERIE/SEE YOUR PARTNER IN LINGERIE?

The closest to lingerie Julienne himself wears would be an enormous robe with nothing but himself beneath it, to be perfectly frank. However – regardless of gender, the sight of his lover in delicate, intimate wear will always deeply please him.

👀 FAVORITE SEX POSITION?

He doesn’t really have one? In truth he prefers positions that are comfortable for his partner – he doesn’t mind the strain on himself ( So if it happens that he ends up carrying them, or holding them up against a wall, it is of no issue in his regard ) what matters to him most is that the angle is pleasurable to his partner and does not cause pain or discomfort.

✋ MOST SENSITIVE SPOT ON YOUR BODY?

His ears. Breathe on them and he will shiver even if he’s trying not to get riled up – brush your lips against them and his arms will be around you in a heartbeat ( unless you are not his lover, in which case you will find yourself exactly a sword’s distance from him and the tip of a blade poking against your skin ) the use of teeth may even draw out a sound from him, and he does try to avoid being too vocal so this is notable.

🛌 FAVORITE PLACE TO HAVE SEX?

Outside, under the stars – provided there is a blanket involved, and no beaches. Sex on a beach is always a terrible plan. 10/10 do not recommend.

📹 THREESOMES OR NO?

It would require him to be sexually and emotionally attracted and involved with both parties. He is demisexual so that former one can be harder to achieve than the latter. Nevertheless, he would not be opposed if the conditions were right for it.

💰 WOULD YOU EVER PAY FOR SEX?

He sees no reason to pay for something he can get for free. He knows he is a charming, handsome man – and if he has a need, it is not so difficult to satisfy that he needs to pull out his purse.
