🍴 Andre

{ Food Headcanons }

Andre is a menace in a kitchen, to the point that on his estate there was a ban not only in his own household but also in all establishments where he may be known to be party. Even the military cooks had heard of the curse over this man’s head and banished him from the mess tent entirely – he was welcome to eat with the other men in other areas, but was never permitted to be where food was being prepared and – frankly – he does not lament it one wit.

This is a permanent starter call for Andre Cotard, of Meridian Television’s 1998-2003 mini series, Hornblower explicitly.

These calls give me a heads up on who is open to interacting with whom (which is handy for those who have exclusives among my crew! ) and gives me an excuse to kick you starters whenever something crosses the mind, or blow up your inbox knowing who would be most wanted.

These calls also serve as a final tag dump – when this call is posted it indicates a character has been fully moved into the blog and is ready for action!

👍 FAVORITE BODY PART ON THE OPPOSITE SEX?

The curve of a woman’s waist from ribs to hips is generally the first thing to draw Andre’s gaze and touch. He is not fond of the pronounced curve created by corsetry, and prefers the subtle, supple shift that comes naturally to a woman. He loves setting his arm around a waist, and drawing a woman close.

👥 FAVORITE BODY PART ON THE SAME SEX?

Collarbones, and in particular tracing, kissing and marking them. Preferably if he is able to run his hands along stomach or side as he does so.

🍒 ARE YOU A VIRGIN?

He very much is not.

đź’‹ DO YOU USE TONGUE WHEN YOU KISS?

Well dear, he is French.

đź‘… GIVE OR RECEIVE ORAL SEX?

Both. Andre loves going down on his partner and making them sing for the pleasure of it; however, he is rarely opposed to being on the receiving end of such attentions.

đź‘„ DO YOU SWALLOW?

He considers spitting to be the height of rudeness.

đź’Ť COMMITMENT OR SLEEPING AROUND?

Andre, once captured, stays loyal to the last. Admittedly though it is the capturing that tends to be difficult – Andre enjoys the act of wooing and being wooed, and very much enjoys the romance of it all. Generally speaking however he does not particularly go after those seeking long term engagements so much as the odd, enjoyable affair. At this juncture one could say he does indeed sleep around, simply because he has not met with anyone who could make him desire something more than a short term engagement.

đź’Ś DO YOU TEXT/WRITE NAUGHTY THINGS TO YOUR PARTNER?

Oh he absolutely would.

đź‘™ DO YOU LIKE TO WEAR LINGERIE/SEE YOUR PARTNER IN LINGERIE?

He would not wear such things but he does love to see them on his partner – regardless of their gender.

đź‘€ FAVORITE SEX POSITION?

Honestly the man loves to be ridden – to watch his partner make use of him for their pleasure is one of his favorite things in the world.

âś‹ MOST SENSITIVE SPOT ON YOUR BODY?

Andre is very controlled, so it is generally quite difficult to tell what excites him more than anything else – for the most part his singular focus is on his partner, to the point he seems to often forget himself.

Indeed, it is not until he is forced in some manner to focus on himself that it becomes notable. ( This is generally achieved by tying his hands, and can become even more intense if he is blindfolded besides.)

Andre’s sides tend to become hypersensitive, as does his neck and throat. Any and every touch, however, is exquisite for him when placed in a position where he is vulnerable, for it takes a great deal of trust to put him there in the first place.

🛌 FAVORITE PLACE TO HAVE SEX?

He prefers a bedroom, frankly. There is more freedom when there is no fear of being caught.

📹 THREESOMES OR NO?

Absolutely.

đź’° WOULD YOU EVER PAY FOR SEX?

It would depend – sometimes he will, if he notes the others interested are unsavory, or if someone catches his eye to the point of distraction. He doesn’t see any shame in paying for pleasure.

Angels

Andre and Eveline were raised Roman Catholic by their parents – a fact which earned Napoleon the most grudging, minute and irritated sliver of respect when the man signed the Concordant of 1801, restoring the privileges of the church and once again making Roman Catholicism the predominant religion in the country.

Because of this, Andre’s view of angels comes from a religious point of view rather than a romanticised one. These are the warriors of God – the ones who rain down the fire on His bequest. He does not see them as sweet cherubs who float over shoulders and look out for people but rather as an organized hierarchy of supernatural entities who can be looked to for guidance, but never for answers.

He believes in angels and in saints, and carries on his person two artifacts of his faith. One is an old woodcut print of the first chapter of the ars moriendi ( the art of dying; the first chapter is to console and remind men that death is nothing to fear ) that used to belong to his father. It rests folded within a silver locket that his mother gifted him before he left for the military, alongside portrait miniatures of the family.x

The other is a rosary which has lost its cross ( the cross was withdrawn from the rosary by Andre, to give to comfort a young soldier who was dying; the cross stayed with the boy when it was time to march onward. ) In its place is a medal adornment of Saint Michael, and Andre is as likely to invoke the archangel as he is to invoke Saint Denis in his prayers.

Crisis

Andre is someone who handles himself incredibly well in time of crisis. One may even argue that he prefers crisis periods because it is among the few times when he knows exactly what he needs to do. Idleness breeds a sort of madness within his chest that leads directly to paths that parallel depression and listlessness, both of which he prefers to avoid.

As it happens, during crisis periods Andre appears calm and steady, his focus an iron-willed sentiment toward resolution of the situation. He often finds the quickest path to a solution, which unfortunately undermines his desire to escape idleness – however, it is simply not in Andre to place others at risk solely so he can prolong his return to the dangers of boredom.

Andre focuses first on threats, then upon ensuring those around him are alright. His own wounds, should there be any, are tended to last and least, regardless of his rank among the men.
