Jack has quite the attraction toward pretty boys in powdered wigs and particular notes of finery – be it a Navy uniform, a particular manner of bearing or just general out of his league-ness and absolutely bad idea tattooed in an ink only he can see prominently upon their foreheads.
He absolutely loves foreplay after swimming – wet bodies is quite a pleasure to him, though he is not opposed to oiled ones – massaged with nice aromas until muscles are warm and pliant beneath the hand can also be a wonderful experience provided it is followed rather immediately by a swim – he’s not all that fond of being oily after it becomes practical to be so.
Driving his partner insane. He absolutely loves frustrating his beloved – sexually and otherwise, admittedly. He does enjoy doing what he can to push buttons in the bedroom – be it to earn something unexpectedly endearing like a request or to find the tables abruptly turned and the power stripped from his hands matters little to him – what brings him joy is vexing his love until they reach the point of making action.
☼ – DAYSTAR – a secret they don’t want coming to light
The depths to which he values the loyalty of others not to him but rather to the causes that he represents and fights for. Whether they understand why he has recruited them or not – whether they recognize themselves as recruited or not – so long as their motives remain aligned with his, there is nothing he will not do for them.
What secrets Mr. Darcy holds affect not only himself, but the lives of his sister and all those who reside and benefit from Pemberley estates being in good repute. For that reason, he is hardly likely to share them so easily.
Mr. Sparrow has but one inquiry about this and that is why in the devil’s name he ought to be putting out his private business for all the world to see just because a bunny bloody asked it of him. And furthermore, he would like to express his utmost astonishment in Vane, whom he believed to be a respectable pirate and therefore wiley enough to avoid such traps, for being so open with matters. As to the dandy, well it is no wonder he held his tongue – there are, after all, no greater cruelties in this world than the lengths those purportedly good men will go to in order to achieve their ends, aye?
{Unusual Questions} 🎐- Does your muse like to collect/hoard anything?
Despite being a pirate, Charles is actually not attached to material objects. These sorts of things can be taken and destroyed, and he has enough going on in his life to find the idea of getting torn up over things to be a waste of his resources and energy.
To this end then, it is safe to say that what Charles Vane collects is in fact people – individuals who he believes he can trust to uphold the ideals that matter to him, and prove themselves to be loyal to those ideas even if it means crossing lines that the civilized would balk before.
Mr. Darcy has benefited greatly from the natures of his ancestors who collected great works of art – from sculptures to portraits of the most grand design. His life has always been couched in luxury, which has in turn instilled upon him a rather marked lack of interest in collecting more. When he does go out of his way to gather items, it is usually gifts for his sister and those few who can count themselves among his friends.
Jane collects letters – from all over the world, from friends and benefactors, from allies and enemies. Most important to her are letters intercepted from her family back home – it has allowed her to thwart the Beckett sons again and again – but there is one among them she cannot bear, and one day she seeks to correct the lie it has told – the story of her own death, a blatant lie delivered to her brother Cutler, the only man in the Beckett line whom she adores.
Jack would like to collect fine things, but he has a terrible habit of losing them, or trading them, or exchanging them to save someone who won’t even say thank you. So while he certainly has the desire and the drive to be a hoarder, he simply does not possess the means to keep what he acquires, for one reason or another.
Whittled figures from the men. He has a small collection of pieces, and when a man dies in battle, storm, or illness, he carves their name on the piece to immortalize a memory of them. Those who cannot whittle, or have never gifted him a piece, he purchases a small figure to represent in the wake of their death – or in some cases, so they are represented among the crowd.
Be a terrible choice all around. Jack falls in love with tragedy constantly. The less likely it is someone will love him back, the more likely it is he’ll find himself rooting for them and adoring them desperately. This, of course, ought to keep him from pursuing them – and generally speaking it does work – but every now and again he has to try, because he’s a fucking idiot, and it goes to hell in a handbasket ever so cheerfully. One time, it even got him killed. But we don’t talk about that.
Be fiesty. Jack loves spirited people. Especially if those people can go toe to toe with him on an intellectual front and get him dancing – he absolutely adores a challenge, and that might be why he has such a lamentable habit of falling in love with his rivals and people who prefer to belittle him and see him as mad rather than genius.
It’s not because he enjoys being talked down to and insulted ( in fact, he hates both of those things! A lot! ) but rather, it is because the stimulus of having someone intelligent enough to actually challenge him – even for a bicker, or a minute, or a single nautical maneuver – thrills Jack to no end.
The more exposure he has to these people who challenge him, the more likely it is that they will end up both becoming quite dear to him on account of the fact they keep him so cheerfully on his toes, but also, that they will in some terrible way, abandon or betray him, or worse, desperately need his help and sacrifices while simultaneously believing both matters to be owed them and thus, not worthy of even an iota of gratitude. But we don’t talk about that, either.
✖ : Describe a way to make them uneasy or apprehensive.
JACK, when confronted by his own mortality tends to be at his most apprehensive. While this is true for most people with a sense of self preservation, it is exceptionally notable that Jack’s response to this feeling of impending doom known to all souls is not to take a deep breath and relax, but rather to go on a wild adventure in search of immortality, instead. Only to, one might add, sacrifice all possibility of immortality in order to save someone who won’t even thank him for the trouble.

FAVOURITES.
FOOD: Fresh fruits and salted meats are to Jack as bread and butter to most men. He has a quiet love for cheese, and deeply enjoys grapes above all other fruits. His tastes run simple, and he is not one for great fanfare with dining; he is, however, extremely observant and takes care to always eat in a manner matching to his companions, so as to never cause offense or embarrass himself. If he does opt to partake in more elaborate meals, it is often at the bequest and invitation of others. His favorite foods are rarely present in such circumstances, due much to their exotic natures ( such as Creolan gumbo, Indian curry, and most anything Greek or Meditteranian ) He is not a man fond of sweets typically, though from time to time he does crave the odd enrichment, such as cream with berries or a French pastry. ( Specifically French, for Jack is of the mind that his fellow English are lamentable cooks and that this is a world renown fact. )
DRINK: Though none would know it and presume his favorite drink to be rum, it is in fact apple cider that takes his true fancy, particularly spiced with an abundance of cinnamon. Though he does partake in rum exceptionally sparingly ( that is a much larger headcanon I will link in later, for he does not in fact partake even a quarter as often as people think and much of his drunkenness is an act ) more often than not, the drink at his hip is water or cider. He is a man who enjoys coffee, and finds most English tea to be distasteful; he has a deep love for Chinese greens, however, and Indian reds.
PIZZA TOPPING: Jack is the only one here who even knows what pizza is ( and it will stay that way; I have no love or need for modern verses on any of my others ) and he is tumblr’s greatest heathen, as he’s one of those people who likes pineapple on it.
COLOUR: Jack’s favorite color is periwinkle, though he might argue in Jolly Sailor Bold that it is the very particular green of a certain man’s eyes. He also holds a special fondness for burgundy and emerald, though both loves come with their associated sorrows.
MUSIC GENRE: His heart for a good sea shanty, Jack loves music that gets the blood pumping and people up out of their seats and moving. He loves the passion in dance and has never understood how the gentry have managed to throttle it.
BOOK GENRE: When Jack reads for pleasure, his favorite book of all time is Captain J. Ward’s My Lyfe Amonge The Pyrates. However, he also read a surprising abundance of poetry, and enjoyed greatly observing various histories and biographies. He also took time to read some of Shakespeare’s works, though he read more poems than he did plays.
MOVIE PLAY GENRE: Jack has never partaken in theater, though ( as mentioned ) he has read some plays by the notable Shakespeare and of them, he was most taken in by the tragedies.
SEASON: March – June, the early summers along the Caribbean when wind is at its most fair and the sun is not yet scorching, before the rains and hurricanes settle themselves in, and the sea is at her brightest.
CURSE WORD: Blast / Bugger / Variations of Jove and Jones
SCENT(S): Brine – Oil – Tar // Salt – Sandalwood – Jasmine
FUN STUFF.
BOTTOM OR TOP: Jack and position is as predictable as the sea.
SINGS IN THE SHOWER BATH: Only if it entertains ( or annoys ) his companions, frankly.
