Some lads just can’t resist showing off for the lasses. And usually it’s the lads with the least to brag about | billy, conspiratorially to Abigail as someone does something very stupid and brash in front of them?

{ The Pirate Chase

Abigail’s brows rose up at the display before her, though it was Billy’s conspiratorial whisper that tugged her lips into a smile. Leaning over, she laid a delicate hand on his arm and patted it understandingly, unable to resist such an easy opening.

“No wonder you haven’t tried, then.”

“Oops!” | Billy to Jane

1. Your character walking in on mine naked.

There were few secrets between Jane and her shadow, save what she looked like when her clothes were on the floor. Perched in the rafters, he faced the door as she changed – while Jane herself moved about the room and readied herself for the day. There must have been a misunderstanding at the inn’s reception area, as Jane distinctly heard the door unlock moments before she found herself standing bare before the gaze of a complete stranger.

No sooner had she turned around did she see the black shade of her guardian drop from above, doubtless intent on gutting the poor man for what he laid witness to. Alarmed as she was, Jane was hardly about to let there be bloodshed over a mere misunderstanding.

“Wait, Diego! Address him, if you please. I will be outside in a moment.” Her guardian had intended to be more efficient – he had a gun pointed at the head of the intruder, but was steady on her command and motioned with it. Shooing the man back and indicating they grant the woman her due privacy.

Closing the door behind him, Diego stated flatly, “Run or try anything, and I will be painting the walls with your brains. You will wait for her ladyship’s judgement.”

“Oops!” | Billy to Charles

7. Your character walking in on mine making a shady transaction.

The coin had already passed hands when Charles noted the familiar form of Billy Bones lurking in the shadows not far off – looking less like a man with intent on keeping himself hidden, and more like one who had come to the fast conclusion he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was debating what the fuck to do about it.

Accepting the roll of leather that contained his purchase, Charles returned his gaze to the seller and held it until the man backed down, turning and heading down the opposite direction of where Bones was standing. Tucking the roll into his shirt, there was a moment in which he considered doing the same – but in the end, he shifted on his heels and marched the way he needed to go, even if it did mean right past the other man.

On his way by, he met Billy’s gaze as if daring him to say anything – admittedly curious to see if he might dare.

“It’s cold outside” | Joji to Thomas

{ The Meme }

There was no sound before Thomas found himself draped with a blanket – nothing to forewarn him of what was coming. He stiffened a moment, looking around until he caught sight of the culprit – and the silence was understood so immediately, he could not help but smile as he drew the article tighter around himself with a sense of gratitude swiftly overriding the nervous irritation that had bubbled up to begin with.

“Thank you,” He hesitated only a moment, then, “Will you be warm enough?” He supposed the man would, but courtesy could only be throttled so far.

10 for Elijah

{ Tragic Honesty }

Have you ever ruined something good? Like a friendship, a good day, a possession, something sacred?

“But of course,” Elijah did not hesitate in this confession, for the simple fact, “Haven’t we all?” He could not think of a single man or woman whom he had ever spoken to, who did not hold in their heart the weight of guilt and regret for some crime left unpunished against their soul. Perhaps, in the worst cases, those sorrows were exacerbated by the fact that they had been punished, but not in any way that could alleviate the shackles set upon the spirit by the act – or, conversely, the punishment had been too cruel to fit the crime.

He was no more innocent than any other soul – and since taking commission with the Navy his regrets had certainly collected over the passage of time. To claim otherwise indicated either dishonesty with one’s self – or worse, a callousness which Elijah had no desire to ever reach. Now, as to specifics on this front – well, there were many to choose from, were there not?

He had ruined his relationship with his father in seeking this life – first by pushing the man to concede in affording him the right to chase it, and then by facing against his father’s ambitions and finding them – ugly. He resisted, and in so doing cleaved a strain between them that grew evermore into a chasm – and there had once been a time, when he had believed nothing in this world could ever come between him and his loyalty and love for the man.

He had severed ties with his own brothers in an effort to escape their shadows and live a life that would never plague them. He would not reach for their help, and in turn he would not be colored by their actions anymore than they by his.

He had broken his mother’s heart – and if ever there was something sacred to be held, it was surely the gentle spirit of a woman who meant well.

Smiling softly, he chose a crueller crime than any of the above to confess, for of them all it was the only one that could be found on paper. “I imagine I have ruined the lives of many good and noble men over the course of my career – and ended yet more permanently. The wives and children, the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers I have robbed are doubtless numerous – and while I will not decry my country, I do at times wonder what it was all for.”

FMK for Charles: Jack, Anne, Teach

{ FMK Meme }

“Fuck you, Sky.” This was bullshit. The fuck kinda question – ? “Well I ain’t fuckin’ or marryin’ Teach.” So sure, let’s kill the man who made him the pirate he is today, why the fuck not? “And I ain’t stupid enough, or cruel enough, ta marry Anne.” The woman had enough shit in her life – not that she’d enjoy fucking him, which made the answer even worse. “Which leaves Rackham, who’s practically my wife anyway.”

FMK for Jack Sparrow: Robby Greene, Tia Dalma, and Cutler Beckett

{ FMK Meme }

“For someone who proclaims to be in my corner as often as you love, you certainly have a familiar way of showing it.” That was harsh and unforgiving, but it was rather true. Such options as these were bitterly unkind, and only those who deigned call themselves his friends ever bothered to stoop to such cruelties – with, perhaps, a select few exceptions.

“Marry Greene, of course – only one of the lot were decent to me,” He pointed out blandly. “With all the respect in the world, fuck my dear Tia Dalma and pray to live to tell about it – and kill the tiny one.”

FMK for Horatio: Edward Pellew, Archie Kennedy, William Bush

{ FMK Meme }

“This is a foul game, and I will have no part in it.”

Swiftly realizing he had no choice, however, Horatio grimaced, even though he knew his answer as soon as the names had been spoken – and some part of him rebelled at the swiftness of his own certainty.

“Oh very well, damn you,” He growled, “Marry Captain Pellew, fuck Lieutenant Bush, and kill Lieutenant Kennedy.”
