WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?:

Jack Sparrow: On the blog I write Jack with @tidefated‘s Armando and ( sort of ) his Cutler as well, so there’s that. I also love Jack with Esmeralda and Arabella, as well as several different OC’s ( some of which are my own design I will admit, though I will stan Jack & Nadifa til I perish ) Another big one is Sparrington, of course!
Horatio Hornblower: I ship Horatio with @tidefated‘s everybody on some level, honestly xD I also ship him with @lightsailing‘s Edrington ( platonic / frienemies / romantic even ) and in general I do love him with Edward, William & Andre!

Abigail Ashe: She’s pretty attached to @tidefated‘s Joji and doesn’t appear interested in budging on that front any time soon.

Charles Vane: Heck. @tidefated has this boy by the coarse hairs I won’t lie. Abraham, Billy, Cutler, Edward, Joji, Max & William all have his love. Mind you with Max that’s 100% a platonic thing ( see nOTP’s ) He’d probably roll with @intolerablexsacrifice if Thomas willed it. He’d probably roll with @theypissedonme just cause they’re mates and he’s – like that, I guess. @harriedwritings Miranda, absolutely.
Andre Cotard: Andre doesn’t get out much but he stans Edward, Horatio, & William.
Jane de Bac: Any man who can pick her up and is smart enough fucking not to has a good chance with her honestly, provided he’s not a goddamn idiot and is perfectly able to take orders from her if necessary. If he cannot respect the position she has built for herself, she has no interest. And if he is interested in profiting off her, well – that will not last long. She will not abide by having men scheming to take her power from her, mark me on that. So, provided he is a little revolutionary, doesn’t mind the fact she comes with three sprogs and a very demanding career in both high society and commerce, he is more than welcome to try.
Theodore Groves: Literally anyone who can tolerate him for 10+ days lmfao. His biggest ship is with @lightsailing‘s Lord Edrington – he has nothing canonically and honestly I am okay with that. I think if he turned to anyone from his own story ( Aside of course, from my own Gillette, whom he does pair off with on occasion ) it would probably be Norrington. But yknow what he is also a total freak of nature so he might go for Davy too. He’s that wierdo who thinks the way the beard clings to anything that pokes near it is adorable so I mean. Who knows at this point with this duck.
Weatherby Swann: His beloved and departed wife Theodosia. Who I really need to write more about. Bad me.
Loki Friggajarson: Calypso ( & Davy, honestly. Terrible trio. ) Poseidon. Probably Armando if he got the chance at it. William Bush most likely. Probably Billy & Joji. Flint, Thomas and Miranda would be a fucking romp okay he would love the three of them so much, a bundle of spitfires, he’d be absolutely delighted. Probably Charles Vane. RIP the universe on that front. And idk – try him, he’s very mutable.
Derek Morgan: Derek is the epitome of homebody so he really needs someone who can shake his whole world up – man or woman, he’s flexible and he could really use some eye opening experiences. Also, somebody get this damn man some landlegs?!
Severus Snape: Honestly Severus is a hard cookie to crumble. I’ve been writing him the longest out of all my muses ( as my first canon muse, I’ve been writing him since 1999 and my only regret is I didn’t leave the fandom and start writing him like this sooner ) but when it comes to romance he is prickly and really needs time to get to know someone first. He doesn’t form attraction based on physical features but rather on intellect and engagement – if you can’t stimulate him mentally, he won’t bother with you sexually, which means going for him means going for the long haul on top of it. That said, he is flexible when it comes to gender so I mean, have at him.

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
My big thing is that I prefer relationships where the characters learn and grow together. It doesn’t have to be easy – in fact it bores me when it is – but it also doesn’t have to be a fight 24/7 either. I like looking at everything – from the small domestic moments, to the epiphanies that are drawn in the light of arguments or even discussions, to the physical and emotional tensions, all the way to how this relationship impacts other relationships, because I don’t believe these characters exist in a bubble and I love exploring what other characters think and feel about relationships as they form. For me a ship is as much about development as anything else, romantic elements included certainly, but if a character doesn’t learn anything, if the two just stagnate together – that’s no fun. I am all about characters that push and pull one another to do better or fall farther and it’s always a delightful entanglement.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
Fun fact. If a character is a consenting adult over the age of twenty one – I do not have a point of discomfort. I have been writing in fandom for nineteen years, which means I grew up back when internet safety rules were a thing and fandom spaces were generally understood to be run by adults, for adults – long before the ideas of puritanism and content policing. Which means I have been writing 20-40 year olds with Ancient As Balls immortals for longer than some people on this platform have been breathing.

I have been writing age gaps with the understanding that a consenting adult is allowed to make their own choices, for good or for ill, for long enough to have lost all concept of a fuck to give about what it looks like in the real world, because rather like Thomas Harris, I am capable of writing something questionable without toting it as my personal morality outside of explorational fiction. I am no more interested in dating a 1200 year old ( or 70 year old ) than Harris is interested in consuming human flesh and tricking the police into joining him for dinner.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
Kinda sorta not really but also yes. Confused? Me too.

So to make this a little more clear. If I have 0 chemistry with you on an ooc level ( we don’t talk to one another outside of memes, there’s no headcanon exchanges, we aren’t yelling at one another at odd hours of the morning about this or that ) chances are you could play the best rendition of my favorite character in the whole fandom – and I won’t ship it because I am far too terrified to get invested.

Alternatively if we’re interacting then I will follow your lead – if you express interest chances are I am already down. I never want to push people in this regard, but I am always clear when I do not want to have this discussion and it usually involves me starting with: I get the appeal but personally, it isn’t something I ship.

I will never lead you on in this regard, but I may be far too shy or fucking nervous out of my mind to outright say ‘Hey, I ship this, would you want to explore it’ because my brain is full of gremlins. Sorry about that.

If clothes are on I still count it as PG-13 no matter how much heavy petting is going on outside of them so I mean my spectrum is fairly broad. I don’t put anything under a readmore, dick and dyson jokes are common here, and it isn’t entirely improbable that characters may be getting spicy under the sheets ( or on top of desks / wherever happens to be convenient ) but for the most part I don’t really consider it NSFW unless there is some heavier descriptions personally. That said because I am aware this account has people who watch it for some raisin, I will tag anything from a dick joke to a full on dysoning from here to high heaven just to be safe.

What is an aspect of your muse that you’ve wanted to explore the most? re: Sparrow!

Honestly it is less an aspect of Jack than it is a general timeline for him, and it’s his time aboard Renegade Freedom – either pre-COTBP or post-AWE, his time with that crew is honestly my favorite because he has an actual support system – and with that, he operates on a much healthier standard than he does when he lacks the external controls that being surrounded by people he respects and admires, and in turn coach and believe in him provides.

Sailing for Recovery is probably my favorite verse for Jack, especially if he’s been with the fleet for at least five or six years since AWE. By that point he is much more stable, certain of himself and no longer reaching for identities that don’t quite suit him. He’s pieced himself together after the events of the Locker and with the help of Renegade’s crew, as well as Arabella Smith from La Fleur, he manages to heal the parts of himself that the Locker broke or otherwise rewrote.

As we all know I pretty much tell the last two films to go back to the depths of the assholes they crawled out of, so the man we see in those movies hardly applies to the man my Jack becomes prior to their timelines – though of the two I would say Stranger Tides is 1000% more tolerable. That said if it were not for the fleet, on my most recent rewatch I was able to see how the disaster sandwich of Jack Sparrow post trilogy came to exist – I just have no desire to write it.

And uh – for those who are new to following me, here are the rants in question regarding Stranger Tides and Dead Men Tell No Tales ( which I actually have some plot availability for, honestly for no other reason than I truly loved Salazar as a character even if I consider the overall plot arc to be frank bullshit xD ) if they’re interested in my take on the matters there on account of what has been said here.

I am an enormous and in fact shameless fan of tropes in general so choosing just one is pretty much impossible. I could be asked this a dozen times and still be able to provide a stupid amount of answers – but that said my current top three would have to be:

Endless Arsenal – In which a single member of the party has an inexplicable amount of weapons on their person, which based on sheer weight and volume ought to be impossible for one person to carry, but here we go anyway. Asked to disarm, it takes an impressive amount of time to build up the mountain of what they were holding on to, and in the end after everyone is suitably shocked, they’re reminded of a tiny penknife or other equally small and by-comparison-harmless weapon to add to the pile.
It Is But A Flesh Wound – In which a character has been injured but is either ignorant to that fact or concealing it for the Greater Good because they’re self-sacrificial lamb chops with martyr complexes.
Gods Are Dicks – What it says on the tin. I love it when the gods are involved and the amount of fucks they give amounts to a perfectly rounded 0.

My walks to and from work are sacred me time moments where I have my headphones in and music blaring and I plot out various responses to roleplays, come up with new ideas, or just plot my course for the next bit of writing / productivity I am hyped about. It’s part of my daily organizing and nothing makes me crankier than having it interrupted because my work uniform convinces people they can talk to me and I have no choice but to stop my day, take out my headphones, and accommodate them because so long as I am in uniform I am representing my company and I have no choice.

16. ice cream, candy, pie or cookies?

Ice cream is a year round thing and I enjoy it immensely; I’ve kind of outgrown candy but I do indulge from time to time in sour things; I see pie as a fall / winter dessert mainly; cookies are a devil’s food snack and I love them. I cannot really choose between the lot cause I do by some measure enjoy them all but I can at least put them into order of favorite to least, and that would be ice cream, pie, cookies, candy.

I kind of love that my sleeping schedule is a cryptid while I myself somehow manage to not be – that right there is some arcane bullshit and I approve.

That said – interestingly enough I am not a big fan of cryptids, generally speaking. When I was writing as Robert Small I did do some delving into that community despite it being something I actively avoid ( the Bigfoot and Alien enthusiasts out here drive me mental ) and I did some isolated research into the Dover Demon and Mothman, ultimately choosing to create my own mythos for the former and treat the latter as a running joke.

Beyond that, I have done some extensive writing and research in regard to mer-culture and the like but I generally need to be in a very particular mood to want to do anything mer related. Sea monsters, serpents and of course, the beloved kraken, are deeply important to me though and considering the nature of this blog, I really ought to write more about them.

I suppose if there is any cryptid that holds true significance for me outside of writing, it would probably be hellhounds and the wendigo. While the former is simply something I have done a lot of study in due to my fascination with mythology and demonology, the latter is actually very close to home in the fact I was raised up on the legend. I did delve at one point into research on the wendigo and my findings still chill me today, so it is something I prefer not to look at too closely anymore.

Listen I knew you would show up eventually so I was like ‘gotta think of something I have not said a bajillion times already, gotta be fresh’ and then I fuckin got distracted by the fact Jack Aubrey’s vest looks like naan bread so I mean, clearly this is going to be a Peak Time for a positivity slam.

We talked before about how we were like ships in the night, constantly passing one another by until the universe got fed the fuck up with us and just crashed us together so hard we were forced to dock in the same harbor for repairs and now here we are. Still living in the same safe harbor, sailing out but always sure about where we can anchor down, and sure there’s storms and there’s turbulence but we can weather it because we’re both stubborn af and about as willing to back down against a storm as James Norrington when one comes between him and his ~~bae~~ quarry. Let’s not drag Norrington too hard he does that well enough without our help bless his cheekies.

I got distracted again I had a point here that was like completely unrelated but then I got trapped in a metaphor.
